Lab in Patient Tower

Manitowoc, Wisconsin—Engineering Concepts provided mechanical engineering services for a remodeled lab at the Holy Family Memorial Medical Center. The lab includes microbiology, histology, chemistry and hematology, but significant challenges marked this project. The low floor-to-floor height limited clearances, active surgery above and drive-up space beneath hindered design choices, and a set budget restricted design options.

Baptists Expand Hospital

Corbin, Kentucky—Engineering Concepts design services for Baptist Regional Medical Center was part of a major expansion, which included day surgery, a critical care unit, and various renovations. The medical center provides full healthcare services for the southeastern part of the state.

In addition, Engineering Concepts provided a facility assessment, which uncovered numerous systemic mechanical faults. The information guides the medical center's master planning effort and their capital budget. As a result, code deviations will be corrected, air handlers will be added and the cooling tower will be replaced.

Baptist Regional Expands

Dormitories Expand at Alverno College

Milwaukee, Wisconsin—Engineering Concepts consulted and furnished mechanical engineering services for the renovated Clare Hall Dormitory.

Four-pipe fan coils provide individual dorm room comfort. The building's life is renewed for generations to come with replaced plumbing infrastructure including all stacks and risers. Accommodations for visiting faculty or dignitaries  were incorporated into the floor plans and fire sprinklers were installed in all dormitories.

St. Francis Brewery

St. Francis, Wisconsin—Engineering Concepts provided mechanical engineering services for a conversion of an aged factory into a state-of-the-art microbrewery, restaurant and pizzeria.

Engineering Concepts has been retained for design services for other recreational destinations including Spin Nightclub, Potawatomi Woodland Dreams Casino, Whistling Straits golf links, Kohler Waters Spa, and the Kenosha Civil War Museum.
